My Future Job

 


What is my ideal job? I have asked myself this question many times and I don't have an accurate answer but anyway there are some points that I would like my ideal job to have:

I don't want it to be monotonous, I don't care if it's in an office (although it's not my favorite option), I just don't want to be doing the same thing every day, I don't want to fall into the routine. I want to travel, I want my work to help myself to know new places and to meet people to show the world, I want to have fun working.


It’s still difficult to decide an area to work, it could be useful to compare the subjects that I like while I am studying, but the truth, I like many and they are very different so it´s more difficult to project myself.

I haven´t mentioned that I will be a journalist so it´s difficult for this to happen, however, this career has a very broad field and it is difficult for me to choose what kind of journalist I want to be. Before I wanted to dedicate myself to investigative journalism, but now I like the cultural area more, I think I like written media more than others, writing for a magazine or for a newspaper seems very interesting to me. Either one I choose I will try to be as happy as I can and enjoy my work.

Changes to my Study Program

  As a first-year journalism student I haven't had a "university experience" yet so it's hard to comment on what I would change from this one but I can comment according to what I have seen and heard: First, I would like the knowledge classes and the practice classes to be better distributed during the years of study, the practices are usually in the upper years and that is why many times the new students are dislucent and abandon the career, because they are only overwhelmed with readings. Second, I would like that in the upper years we could all be "assistants" to the professors, not just some, I would like it to be a rotating job, because it is important that we all learn to teach and we can spend at least a week doing it since it is probably the only opportunity to approach teaching in journalism. A person I would like to meet

  A person I would like to meet is Saoirse Ronan, she is an Irish -American girl. She is just 27 years-old and she is an actress that I love, I love her because first, is one of the most talented actresses of the moment, she is very versatile to act, she is very funny when acting, she is an current feminist icon; she's an empowered woman who raises her voice whenever she can and also has fought to be recognized in the industry. She has acted in movies that I like very much: lady bird, The lovely Bones (I learnt about her in this movie many years ago, it is a very sad movie but I highly recommend it) and Little Women, this latter is a movie based on my favorite book with the same tittle and although physically the actress and the character she interprets (Jo March) aren’t similar to me I like it very much, because she takes the film to another level with her acting. My Favorite TV show

  When I was a child I shared a bedroom with my sister, although she is 7 years older than me we used to watch the same TV shows, one day we discovered the channel "Boomerang" and it became our favorite. We watched many series and movies on that channel, one of those was “Gilmore Girls”, the series tells the life of Lorelay Gilmore and her daughter named the same, but nicknamed Rory, the series follows for years the life of this small family and shows us the relationship between them, with their friends, family and lovers. At that time, I remember we liked it a lot but we never finished it, so many years later I watched this series again and I loved it, it became my favorite. I like this series because its characters are authentic and you can identify with them, although, being an old series, some jokes or comments are inappropriate.
